Life is not always easy, and holding on to our faith in hard times can be challenging.
Hard times are common to us all, not one of us can escape the ups and downs of life.
Knowing this though doesn’t make it any easier when we are going through them.
Whether its health problems, family or relationship problems, financial problems, or something else, going through hard times can often leave us feeling alone and isolated.
But we are never alone. God promises us in His Word that He will never leave us or abandon us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
God’s Word even tells us that we will have problems (John 16:33), it’s part of living in a fallen world, but with this God assures us that He will also provide us with a way through them (1 Corinthians 10:13).
As believers we can find strength and comfort in our relationship with God and through His Word, knowing that He is with us no matter what we are going through.
The following verses have been an encouragement to me as I go through hard times, and I hope, that as you read through them and reflect on them, that you will find strength and encouragement in them also.

Is it ok to acquire wealth? How should we use our money? What about the poor?
Scripture is often misquoted to say that money is the root of all evil, but that is not correct. It actually says that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. So, there is no problem with having wealth, but it’s our attitude to it and what we do with our money that counts.
The Bible encourages us to be wise when it comes to our money and to be generous to others with what we have been given.
Here are 29 verses about money for you to reflect on.

1 John 2:15-17

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.

Scripture makes it clear that God wants us to be wise with our money, wise with our investments and how we use them. He also wants us to be generous with what He has given us. He wants us to use the gifts He has given us, including our money, to help others, and for His glory.
Depression and mental illness are very real and serious issues in our society, and they can have far reaching impacts beyond just the person who is depressed.

Grief is a sad, painful, and inevitable part of life.
You can’t go through life without experiencing grief at some point.
We often think of grief as associated with death, and that is true, the death of a loved one brings with it great pain and loss.
But there are other life experiences apart from death that also bring grief. We can also experience grief over a lost job, a lost relationship, a divorce, the loss of health, having to give up a home because of financial hardship, even grief over lost opportunities or what we may have once had.
Whatever is causing you to grieve, be assured, you are not alone.
God is with you, and He wants to comfort you and give you strength.
God gives us many promises in Scripture that we can claim and hold on to through our difficult and challenging times.
Here are 23 Scripture verses about grief for you to reflect on.

Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18
For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory, while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Corinthians 15:52-57
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “Death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
John 14:1-4
“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. You know where I go, and you know the way.”

Hebrews 4:14-16
Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession. For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
