FREE Christian Printable Monthly Calendar (Vertical)

A monthly calendar is a great way of getting a general overview of the month ahead.

It’s not meant to be for all the little everyday tasks you have to do  but to provide a birds eye view of whats ahead. Often including things like birthdays, anniversaries, important dates and appointments.

This calendar I have created for you is undated so you can use it any year you like but it still has the days on it so its super helpful to keep track of where you’re at each month.

I have included a bible verse on each page as well so you can constantly be reminded of God throughout your month and your planning process.

I have made this calendar versatile so it can be used in many different ways depending what you need it for.

What Can I use a Monthly Planner for?

The great thing about this planner is that it can be used for a variety of things. Some ways to use this planner could be:

  • Monthly schedule – basically just plan out your month ahead with events, errands etc so you have an overview of whats ahead
  • Meal planning – you could use this calendar to plan what meals you’re making ahead of time. and use the to do list and notes for things you may need to prep in advance or purchase in order to plan the meals for the month ahead.
  • Gratitude log – write down one thing each day you’re grateful for. In the to do list you could put some ways you might thank other people throughout the month.
  • Prayer calendar – write down something or someone you want to pray for each day. In the to do list you could write down some names of people you would like to contact or follow up with that you ave prayed for.

Don’t forget before you start planning to set aside some time to pray and commit your plans to the Lord. I always find this a helpful way of starting my month.

FREE Printable Christian Monthly To Do List

FREE Printable Christian Monthly To Do List

This fabulous Monthly To Do List with the Scripture reminder that ‘the joy of the Lord is our strength’ is a great way to keep track of those once a month tasks that need to be done, or use it as a way of recording some bigger tasks that you want to get through, which you might break down into smaller tasks for your Weekly To Do List. It’s a great way to keep you on track and focused, and it’s a great feeling when you get to cross those things off your list.

How many items should be on your to do list?

Some people say you should only have 1-3 items to do each day. I think this can be especially true for moms with busy lives.

Trying to take on too many things can becoming overwhelming and discouraging if you’re not getting through all the things on your list.

Keep it simple and doable which will keep you motivated.

Its also great seeing all the things you’ve managed to tick off over the month. Sometimes we think we haven’t gotten through anything, but we’ve done more than we think!

What should my priorities be?

Your priorities should be the non negotiables and the things that just cant wait.

For example you might want to clean out your pantry and you might need to pay your car insurance by tomorrow.

I would say the pantry can wait and the car insurance should be done asap. A bit of a silly example but you get my point 😉

Remember whilst everything feels urgent, not all of it often is. Pray about the things you need to do, ask God what you should do now and what can wait.

We can’t do everything, so be kind to yourself!

How To Study The Bible By Topic ( + FREE Printable Topic Ideas)

How To Study The Bible By Topic ( + FREE Printable Topic Ideas)

The Bible is an amazing book, and there are so many truths and promises in it that we can learn from.

But studying the Bible can be quite daunting.  How do I do it?  Where do I start?

The topical approach to studying can be a great way to get into God’s Word.

You choose the topic you want to study, learn what it means, whether it’s a word, or a phrase, and explore how it is weaved throughout the entire Word of God.  It can be a broad way of studying a particular theme or word, as an overview, or, you can go more deeply into the subject.

For example, if you chose ‘Grace’ as your topic you would learn what God’s grace means and how God extends His grace throughout the Bible.  You would be able to follow the topic through to see how God’s grace was there from the beginning, from the Garden of Eden, through the history of the Children of Israel, through to Christ’s coming, and the birth and early years of the church.

Topical studies are great for Scripture Journaling and also would be a great way to Color Code your Bible!

Study God's Word

Pray

It’s always a great place to start with prayer.  Firstly, to pray and ask the Lord what topic He would like to teach you, and then before each study spend a little time in prayer asking the Lord to show you His truth and what He wants to reveal to you along the way.  I like to pray Psalm 119:18, “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law”.

Choose a Topic

Prayerfully choose your topic.  The Bible is a never ending resource and there are so many topics you can choose.  The topic could be a word, or a phrase, or even a person.  You may want to follow a theme that your pastor is speaking on at church, or in Bible Study, or it may be something more personal, like an issue you are struggling with, such as anxiety or fear.

Look Up References

Start looking up, and writing down, references for your topic.  You can use a Bible concordance or Bible dictionary to help you.  There are plenty of online references you can use also, just type your word or phrase into the search engine and see what comes up.

You will most likely have a very long list by this stage so once you have your list sort through which of the verses you want to use for your study

Read and Observe

Now you have your verses it’s time to start your study.

You don’t need to rush through the process.

You may want to complete the study in an allocated time, such as a morning or an afternoon, or, alternatively, you may want to take longer with it, working your way through one verse or one passage at a time, using a different one each day as part of your quiet time or devotional time so you can really allow God’s Word to soak into you over a period of time.

As you read make observations, ask questions, look for principles.

Ask who, what, when, where and why of the verses.

What is the main point of the passage?

What does the passage tell me about God/myself?

Are there any instructions in the passage?

Write down your answers and observations.

Conclude and Apply

James 1:22 instructs us to be doers of the Word not just hearers.

Once you have read the passage of Scripture, asked yourself questions about it, and made some observations it’s then time to make it personal.

We rob ourselves if we approach Scripture from a purely academic level and not make it personal and allow it to transform our lives.

What is God saying to you, what is He teaching you through these verses?  Is there a truth about God that you have learned?  Is there an action He wants you to take?  Is there something He wants you to change?

This part can take a little time as you reflect, and pray, and ask God to show you the truth of what He wants to teach you.

It’s a good idea to write down your application, it helps to clarify your thoughts and any actions you wish to take, and it also serves as a prompt and a reminder as you reflect back later.

Share What You Have Learned

Not everyone is comfortable with this, but it can be a great thing to share with a friend, a partner, or even on social media, the lessons God is teaching you.  It’s not only good for you, to reinforce those lessons, but it can be an encouragement to others.

Prayer Prompts for Kids

Prayer Prompts for Kids

Praying out loud can be an intimidating thing, regardless of whether you’re a kid or an adult.  Even the most outgoing child can feel self-conscious about it.

Kids need a space where they can feel safe and loved, and not vulnerable, as we encourage them to open up to God in prayer.

So how can we encourage our kids to pray, and to pray out loud with us, and with others?

As we nurture them in their growing walk with God, we want them to know they can talk to God anywhere, anytime, about anything they want to, and that with God they are safe, loved and protected.

Which leads us to prayer prompts for kids.

WHAT ARE THEY

Prayer prompts are, as they sound, prompts for prayer.

Sometimes not knowing what to pray for can be the thing that holds them back.

Prayer prompts are visual queues to help children with ideas of what to pray for.

It could be a list of prayer points, a calendar with different prayer points for each day, older kids may like to start a prayer journal, or it could be a collection of prayer ideas printed on paper or discs that they can choose from a box.

Whichever form you want to use, depending on the children’s ages, get them involved in making the prayer prompts and choosing the topics, that way they will feel more ownership of the project and more likely to pray for the things they have nominated.

HOW DO THEY WORK

Prayer prompts will encourage children to pray and to know what they can pray for, without feeling any pressure to think of something on the spot.

If you are using a calendar idea, you may have one or two suggested prayer topics on any given day.  It could be that you have a different category to pray for depending on the day, or the week of the month.  For example, Monday could be for missionaries, Tuesday could be for family, Wednesday could be for worship, Thursday could be things to thank God for, and so on.

If you are using printed squares, or discs which they can choose from a box you may have categories mixed together, or you may choose to separate out the categories.  Each child will get to choose one or two things to pray for.

You can write them as a single word, such as ‘thanksgiving’ and the children can make up their own prayer, or, a phrase such as ‘thank you God for…my comfy bed’, or, especially for younger children, you may want to write out a prayer in full for them.

You can also use scripture verses as prayers, especially for thanksgiving and worship.  The Psalms are full of wonderful verses of praise.

WHAT CATEGORIES

You can also break the prompts into categories using the 5 Types of Prayer.

This is a great way to teach them that prayer isn’t just about asking God for things for themselves (petition) but prayer is also about confession, adoration, thanksgiving and intercession for other people.  You could have five boxes with a different category in each box and the children can pray a prompt from each one, developing a more comprehensive approach to prayer.

HOW TO MAKE PRAYER PROMPTS FOR KIDS

You can design and make your prayer prompts using paper, cardboard, tokens, or, using a calendar.  Write out your prayers and prompts and decorate them using, pencils, highlighters and stickers, and anything else you can use to make them look attractive and fun.

Or, you can download these free printable prayer prompts.
