Does your daughter ever go quiet after a hard day at school, and you can tell there’s more going on than she’s saying? Maybe it’s a friendship that’s gone sideways, a worry she can’t quite name, or just that tender, in-between age where she’s figuring out who she is — and whether she measures up.

As a homeschool mum to a teen girl myself, I know how much of that inner world can stay unspoken. So I created Rooted: A Scripture & Identity Journal for Christian Teen Girls — a free 20-day journal to help her hear what God actually says about her, in the middle of all of it.

This one is a little different from my usual women’s SOAP studies — it’s written specifically for girls around 11–16, in language that meets them where they are, without talking down to them.

What’s Inside

Rooted walks your daughter through 20 short, guided days across four themes:

  • Identity in Christ — made on purpose, chosen, and loved
  • Trusting God With Worry — handing over anxious thoughts instead of carrying them alone
  • Friendship & Belonging — what real friendship looks like, and what to do when it’s hard
  • Courage & Confidence — stepping out even when she doesn’t feel brave yet

Each day includes:

  • A Scripture reference to look up and copy out in her own Bible translation
  • Two honest reflection questions — no “right” answers, just her real thoughts
  • A simple prompt to turn what she’s feeling into a prayer
  • A “Today I’m choosing to believe…” line to finish, so she walks away with one truth to hold onto

There’s also a Scripture memory tracker for all 20 verses, and a prayer list page for her to keep bringing things to God and coming back to see how He’s answered.

It’s designed to print in soft, warm tones on the cover, with clean white pages on the inside — easy on your ink, gentle on the eyes, and something she’ll actually want to sit down and write in.

How to Use It

There’s no wrong way to work through Rooted. She can go in order, one day at a time, or flip to whatever theme fits how she’s feeling that day. Some days she might fill the whole page; other days one line might be all she’s got — and that’s more than okay. This isn’t homework, it’s a quiet place to be honest with God.

It’s a lovely one to do together, too. Even just asking “which day did you do today?” can open up a conversation you might not have had otherwise.

A Journal Worth Coming Back To

Twenty days from now, your daughter won’t have everything figured out — none of us do. But she’ll have twenty days of Scripture in her own handwriting, and twenty small reminders of what’s actually true: she was made on purpose, she’s never carrying anything alone, and she belongs.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love…” — Ephesians 3:17
